India not favorites anymore???

Indian team which was touted by every single critic as the most favorable team to win the world cup has been written off now by Sir Viv Richards and Dean Jones.
To start with Indian bowling has lacked the commitment to control and to take 10 wickets in an innings. The tacky fielding has not helped the cause either.
The team might or might not make it to the quarter finals and the chances are very slim that they are going to miss the quarter's berth.
But still can anyone that easily write off a team touted to be the run away favorite at the start of the tournament??
If India do go through to the knockout stage, which they most likely will, there are several things that will haunt the team and the captain. The bowling most certainly needs a lot of changes, Nehra must be dropped and they should give a chance to Ashwin and Sreesanth. Sree's behavior might be a problem but atleast he will fill the team with more enthusiasm and hunger to win more and the aggressiveness he brings will balance the calmness of Dhoni on field.
The second thing they should do is, the Captain cool must think more with his head than his instinct. There is no need to change the batting order which looks very solid with Kohli at 4 and then MS,yuvi and Yousuf. Dropping Pathan is not the best option as he can single handedly win the match and on his day there is no one dangerous than him and that means he is a big asset in knockout rounds.
The fielding cannot improve and we must admit it and try bowling better and getting a few runs while batting.
The Indian team, though it has not lived upto the expectation as the team to beat has not been too bad either. The draw match against England was quite dominated by India and against South Africa too, India dominated almost for the entire match. Consider if Indian batsmen were a little more sensible and they could have easily scored atleast 30 runs more off the last 10 overs and South Africans were not that convincing chasing. And they will stay as chokers until they reach the finals atleast.
At this stage, writing off India will be only a fools intuition and Indian team is most dangerous when they are under tremendous pressure. Just a few more little tweaks here and there and they can beat some of the best teams comfortably.
