Bangladesh lost to South Africa by a massive 206 runs to crash out of the cwc 2011. It was a tearful farewell for the Bangladesh as fans watched in shock and awe. To start with they had very less chance of beating SA who have looked absolutely devastating to top the points tabe.
Loss for Bangladesh means a lot of goods for other teams as India, England and West Indies go through to the quarterfinals without having to worry much now. This will be a huge relief for England as they would have been watching this match very keenly.
For SA who batted first after winning the toss, three of their batsmen scored half centuries including Kallis, Amla, du Plessis and Smith scored 45 runs. This propelled them to a good score of 284 runs on a track which had green cover.
Chasing this total, Bangladesh were bundled out for 78 runs with only one batsman, Shakib crossing the double digits. He scored 33 runs in the end and this signaled a dream over for the Bangla boys and the country which had very high expectations. Unlike other wc's, Bangla failed this time to cause any upsets.
